Cancun has approximately 35,000 rooms. Most of the hotels are located in the Hotel Zone which is a strip shaped like the number 7. The majority of the hotels in the hotel zone are located on the ocean side, but there are a few that are located on the lagoon side. The hotels have different types of rooms. An "ocean view" room means that you get to see some of the ocean; an "ocean front" room means that you will see the ocean right out of your window.

There are several categories of hotels ranging from 1 star to 5 stars and the highest category being "grand tourism." The great service and the friendly staff in every hotels is one of the reasons why people come back to Cancun over and over again.
